Question & Answer Session with Andre Carriere, President, Coalition Against the Danford MegaDump

Can you briefly describe what this Maga Dump project is all about?
Why would anyone consider a major landfill of this size for what is essentially a pristine wilderness and cottage area?
Well, do the soil conditions or other features of the site make it suitable for a landfill?
I understand that there is an important and historical river barley 300 yards from the proposed landfill site? What is the significance of this river?
How do the taxpayers and residents of the area feel about this project?
What public consultation has been put in place to obtain the feedback of the residents?
This is a huge project then. Where would the garbage and waste be coming from to put in this mega dump?
Aren't there laws in place that prohibit the movement of waste and garbage from one province to the next?
A major landfill seems to be yesterday's solution and a poor one. What other solutions are there to the problem of waste and garbage?
And beyond the immediate area, what are the Mayors and elected members of other municipalities doing about their problems with waste? And, what do they think of this proposal?
Where do you go from here as a Coalition?
